An application for the right of permanent residence (permanent residence in the Czech Republic) in the Czech Republic can be made by foreigners who have been legally and continuously in the Czech Republic for 10 years on the basis of a visa for more than 90 days or a long-term residence permit (residence permit) for the purpose of study or for 5 years if the purpose of the stay was different from study, for example, work, entrepreneurship, etc.

Continuity will also be recognized if the foreigner has been on a business trip abroad from a Czech employer for up to 12 months or has not been in the Czech Republic for a year for a valid reason - for example, pregnancy and childbirth or a serious illness. 

However, the period during which the foreigner was not present on the territory of the Czech Republic is not counted, i.e. will not be credited to the period of uninterrupted stay. If a foreigner has been a student for a certain time, then half of the period spent in the Czech Republic for the purpose of studying will be credited to the uninterrupted stay. Also a foreigner who has been in the Czech Republic for 5 years,

You also need: a passport, a long-term stay permit, a certificate of fulfillment of the conditions of continuous stay (5-10 years), an up-to-date photo - in the format of documents; a document confirming the availability of financial resources (as a rule, this is a bank statement indicating the availability of a statutory amount; confirmation of the provision of housing; certificate of successful passing of the exam in Czech language at A1 level; employment agreement, certificate from the pension fund and tax office on no debts; 

a document on the provision of housing in the Czech Republic (an apartment rental agreement for a long time with a period of "from" and "to", confirmation of an individual or legal entity on the provision of housing to a foreigner, a certificate from the real estate register, if the applicant is the owner of a home, etc.); if we are talking about family reunification, then a marriage certificate is also needed; birth certificate or other act document; if a foreigner is a child and a union with the family is required, but not in full, but only with one of the parents, the consent of the second parent or guardian for the child's stay in the Czech Republic is required.

Where can the validity of a Czech visa be renewed? What are the terms of visa extension?

An application for an extension of the permit to stay in the Czech Republic is submitted to the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for work with foreigners corresponding to the applicant's residence address. An application for an extension of a residence permit can be submitted no earlier than 120 days, but no later than 1 day before the end of its validity, visa extension - no earlier than 90 days and no later than 14 days before its expiration.
